Bennington Monument Charm - a unique collectible from Bennington, Vermont!
The Bennington Battle Monument is the tallest structure in Vermont, rising up 306 feet from its base in Old Bennington. It commemorates the Battle of Bennington, a battle that lead to the turning point in the Revolutionary War. It was completed in 1897 with funds from the states of Vermont, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts, the Congress of the United States and private donations. It is constructed from blue-gray magnesium limestone (known as Sandy Hill Dolomite) from present-day Hudson Falls, New York. The New England states that contributed to its construction can all be viewed from the observatory level, which can be reached by elevator.
